On Wednesday 27th September 2023, Sulis Hospital organised a free information event in conjunction with Combe Grove to help people understand their heart health better. The event featured leading experts from Sulis Hospital and Combe Grove who provided valuable insights into advanced cardiovascular screening and prevention.
Several risk factors contribute to heart disease, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, smoking, obesity, diabetes, a sedentary lifestyle, diet and a family history of heart disease.
Your heart is precious - not all heart diseases are the same and not all preventive measures are the same.
Dr Ali Khavandi, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Sulis Hospital, discussed advanced cardiovascular screening and prevention.
Dr Rebecca Hiscutt PhD., Registered Dietitian from Combe Grove practice team talked about metabolic health for the heart.
The event concluded with a Q & A session on Heart Health where the friendly team of experts listened to attendees’ concerns and offered advice.
The event was an excellent opportunity for people to learn more about their heart health and how to prevent cardiovascular disease (CVD). Attendees could also talk to the experts and get their questions answered.
