Culture of lifelong learning
Our dedication to professional ongoing development is woven into the fabric of Sulis. We believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and we empower our staff to embrace it fully. Here’s how we foster growth across our hospital:
Tailored Training Programs
Our Insights Management and Supervisor training programmes equip leaders with the skills needed to navigate complex healthcare environments. We believe that effective leadership drives positive change.
From Mental Health First Aid to Dementia Awareness, our clinical training covers a wide spectrum. Basic and Intermediate Life Support, Manual Handling, and Safeguarding courses ensure our clinical staff are well-prepared for any situation.
Our commitment extends beyond clinical roles. Customer Service Training, Food Safety for catering, and Employment Law workshops empower our support services staff to excel.
In-house and External Trainers
In-House Expertise: Our dedicated in-house trainers deliver clinical training across the organisation. Their deep understanding of our hospital’s unique challenges ensures relevant and impactful learning experiences.
External Perspectives: We also collaborate with external trainers who bring fresh insights. These experts conduct ad hoc sessions on specialised topics, enriching our staff’s knowledge.
Apprenticeship Opportunities
Nurturing Future Talent: Our apprenticeship programs provide ‘on-the-job training’ for Trainee Nurse Associates, Operating Department Practitioners, and aspiring leaders. We believe in nurturing talent from within.
T-Level Placements: We welcome T-level students, offering them practical exposure and mentorship. Their energy and enthusiasm infuse our hospital with new ideas.
Investing in professional development isn’t just about individual growth; it’s about creating a ripple effect. When our staff thrive, our patients benefit, and the entire healthcare ecosystem flourishes. Sulis Hospital remains committed to this cycle.
Join us on this journey of continuous learning, where each step forward brings us closer to excellence. Together, we’ll continue to redefine healthcare.
Sulis Hospital is an award-winning hospital, led by some of the UK’s most experienced consultants.
The hospital was designed by world-renowned architects Foster & Partners, in collaboration with the founding doctors, who combined their NHS and private practice experiences to create a healing environment. Both NHS and private patients receive outstanding care and expertise at Sulis Hospital.
Sulis Hospital is one of the first private hospitals in the UK where 100% of the shares are owned by an NHS Trust. The hospital’s private patient care model benefits all by allowing any additional income, earned through private care, to be reinvested in high-quality services for all patients at the two hospitals. The acquisition by the Royal United Hospital has grown the hospital’s services, increasing its capacity for patients.
This unique partnership between Sulis Hospital Bath and the Royal United Hospital NHS Foundation Trust ensures that we can continue to offer patients the highest standard of care.
Working with us means taking pride in your team and delivering the highest quality of care. We will support you and your ongoing learning in a hospital that benefits from advanced equipment and practices and has one of the best clinician-to-patient ratios around.
Our teams are nurtured to be the best they can be so that we can enhance the quality of people's lives through exceptional care. We are delighted to be rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission for 'Caring' because of the caring nature of our people.
