Simon Milner
Hospital Director
Simon joined Sulis Hospital in October 2021, bringing a wealth of experience from the independent healthcare sector. He has held Hospital Director roles in Nottingham, Worcester, and Bristol, as well as serving as Chief Operating Officer at HCA’s The Wellington Hospital in London. With a clinical background in Intensive Care nursing, Simon trained in Bristol, holds an MBA, and has worked as Head of Clinical Services in hospitals in both Australia and the UK. He spent six years running his own healthcare business and has worked in interim leadership roles across the NHS and independent sector, gaining invaluable experience in management.
Simon is passionate about the unique opportunity to develop Sulis Hospital in collaboration with Royal United Hospitals Bath, supporting the BaNES community and surrounding areas. He believes that by working closely with the NHS, primary care providers, and commissioning groups, Sulis can play a key role in shaping the future of local healthcare.
For Simon, good governance, patient safety, and delivering an outstanding experience for every patient and visitor remain top priorities.

Jenny Anstey
Head of Nursing and AHPs
Jenny joined Sulis Hospital in November 2019, bringing over 30 years of nursing experience, primarily in surgical care. She began her career training as a registered nurse at North Devon District Hospital and later worked for two years as a charge nurse in Florida, USA, on a general surgical ward. She went on to complete her cardiothoracic ENB course at Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire and holds a BSc in Professional Nursing Studies and Research, as well as an MSc in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care.
Jenny’s career has spanned both the private and NHS sectors, including roles at Bupa (now Spire) Bristol, where she specialised in cardiac surgical care, and University Hospitals Bristol Foundation Trust, where she served as Matron for Specialised Services. In this role, she oversaw cardiology, cardiac surgery, haematology, and oncology, as well as surgery and gynaecology. Before joining Sulis, she spent a year leading Innovation, Safety, and Research in Community Nursing.
Jenny is committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient care, ensuring that Sulis continues to provide outstanding healthcare for its patients.

Sam Harrison
Head of Operations
Sam joined Sulis Hospital Bath in September 2018 as Business Development Lead before progressing to Head of Business Development and Marketing. Now serving as Head of Commercial Operations, he plays a key role in shaping the hospital’s strategic growth.
With a strong background in commercial and marketing roles, Sam previously spent over seven years as a healthcare marketer, including four years with Spire Healthcare. He has extensive experience promoting private healthcare services and has led major healthcare marketing campaigns across digital and traditional media.
Sam holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and Business Management and is a Certified Digital Marketing Professional, having completed a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing. His expertise in business strategy and patient engagement helps ensure that Sulis Hospital continues to thrive in a competitive healthcare landscape.

Hayley Lord
Head of Human Resources
Hayley has been Head of HR at Sulis Hospital Bath since September 2019. She brings over 20 years of Human Resources experience across the private and voluntary sectors, including her previous role as Head of HR for a national environmental charity.
She holds a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Exeter, an MA in Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from the University of the West of England. Hayley is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
With a passion for fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture, Hayley is dedicated to ensuring that Sulis remains a great place to work, attracting and retaining top talent to deliver exceptional patient care.
