Dr Bhattacharya has been a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology for 14 years, having worked in the NHS for 24 years. She qualified MBBS 1994 in India, having completed her junior year training in the Northern Deanery, Newcastle upon Tyne with the completion of consultant training in 2009.
She has extensive experience working at the Birmingham community Hospital, Great Western Hospital NHS, Royal Sussex County Hospital and the Royal United Hospital, Bath where she is currently a full-time Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology. Dr Bhattacharya offers private practice at Sulis Hospital.
Having been clinical lead for the department she led for outpatient specialities at GWH, Swindon she was nominated for the Staff Excellence Award for Care and Compassion and nominated for Team of the Year 2013 and 2019 respectively.
Dr Bhattacharya is the current Lead for Inpatient Diabetes, Diabetes Foot Service and Research & Development at the Royal United Hospital. Her interests and expertise are in Thyroid, Adrenal, Calcium, Parathyroid, Testosterone Replacement, Hormone Replacements, Polycystic Ovary (PCOS) as well as management of and Management of Diabetes particularly Type 2 diabetes with newer therapeutic options.
