Dr McNeir studied medicine at the University of Birmingham (qualified 1996) then worked in Cardiology and Emergency Medicine at Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia and Jersey, before completing hospital speciality rotations in the South West (UK) before qualifying as a GP in 2000. Dr McNeir has worked as an NHS GP for 25 years including as a GP partner in Cheltenham before moving to Wiltshire in 2017 and currently works in Bath.

PDr McNeir lives with her family outside Bath and enjoys all aspects of outdoor life including keeping a flock of Herdwick sheep and alpacas and helping out with lambing on a local sheep farm!
