Mr Duncan Leadbetter

Duncan Leadbetter is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Sulis Hospital, Bath, specialising in cataract surgery, refractive surgery and glaucoma. He is a highly skilled cataract and refractive surgeon, offering surgery with the full range of standard and premium lenses. He also runs a busy glaucoma practice, providing all aspects of expert glaucoma care including treatments such as selective laser trabeculoplasty, iStent surgery and trabeculectomy.

He studied Medicine at Imperial College London, intercalating with an additional BSc in Surgery and Anaesthesia.

After Medical Foundation Training in London, Mr Leadbetter undertook his Ophthalmic Specialist Training in the South West, with a fellowship in Glaucoma at The Bristol Eye Hospital.

For his NHS practice, Mr Leadbetter is the Lead Clinician of the Ophthalmology department at The Royal United Hospital, Bath. He is responsible for managing the department, as well as running the glaucoma service.

Mr Leadbetter is at the cutting edge of his field and is involved in research to improve the treatment of glaucoma and cataract. He has published numerous articles in medical journals and presented at national and international meetings on these topics. He is a reviewer for the European Journal of Ophthalmology.
